We want to help Transitioning Service Members and their families to successfully transition to civilian life. By working with a sponsor we hope to help in those trying first 12 months leaving the military and reintegrating into a civilian community.
Sponsors will help transitioning service members if they want to continue their education by helping them, but not limited to, enrollment of VA GI Bill education benefits.
Transitioning service members will receive help with finding a place to rent or with applying for VA Home Loans.
Not only helping you find and receive the care you need, but helping make sure all VA medical benefits are received.
Marquette Law School and Legal Aid provides legal advice. In addition, we offer connections to attorneys at other agencies who provide pro bono legal assistance. We also partner with an advocate who works with veterans facing charges being handled through the Veterans Court.
Transitioning service members are connected to government, private and nonprofit agencies for inpatient and outpatient therapy programs to deal with a host of mental health issues including PTSD and other service and non-service related concerns.
Through a variety of state, local and private agencies, to assist veterans with finding work, developing resumes, learning interviewing skills and connecting with employers for work opportunities.
The ETS Sponsorship Program is a national program to connect transitioning service members (TSMs) who are leaving military service with a volunteer sponsor in the state/community to which they plan to return. Those volunteer sponsors will help the service member build a transition plan that the includes identifying the resources the service member will need when returning home. With the long-term goal being reduction in the rate of veteran suicide.
